If you are feeling low, coming along to PMH Borders for the first time is a big step towards getting the support you need – you might feel a bit anxious, but our experienced and dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way.

What we do

PMH Borders is a Scottish Registered Charity and has, for over a decade, been providing evidence based therapy across the Scottish Borders for those affected by the birth of a child and early parenthood.

There can be many reasons why a parent needs support at this time, including, but not limited to:

  • Birth trauma
  • Previous Miscarriage
  • Infant death

And the impact of these can include, but are not limited to:

  • Low mood
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Other Perinatal Mental Health difficulties

We’re here to support you.

Who are we?

We are a small charity providing psychological therapies for those who are feeling anxious or depressed by their experience of pregnancy, birth and/or early parenthood. Our team consists of a therapy services manager, an assistant manager, a creche co-ordinator, and 4 permanent therapists/counsellors. We also have a number of volunteers helping us run the creche and a Board of Trustees who oversee the governance of the charity.

Your help makes all the difference

Your donations helps us to:

  • Recruit and employ only fully qualified and experienced therapists and counsellors
  • Recruit and employ fully qualified and experienced office and creche managers
  • Provide a comfortable, confidential environment where clients can feel safe and supported
  • A warm, homely creche space where babies and toddlers can be well looked after by a qualified and experienced creche co-ordinator and PVG checked and trained volunteers.

This is a much needed service and your donations are vital in helping us to sustain the high quality of therapeutic support we are able to offer.
